Education and Background

Dr. Aniruddh T J hails from a humble Kannada-speaking family in Kundapur. He completed his schooling in Kolar, Karnataka, where he topped the district in the SSLC exams in 1996. Following his outstanding performance, he gained admission to the prestigious MES College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. In 1998, he secured the 20th rank in the Karnataka medical CET, earning him a spot at Bangalore Medical College.

Dr. Aniruddh Jagannath graduated from Bangalore Medical College with honors in 2004, receiving the college Gold Medal in Medicine & ENT and the Rajiv Gandhi University Gold Medal in Pathology. He then pursued his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon, securing the 2nd rank in the NIMHANS exams. His training at the prestigious National Institute for Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) spanned six rigorous years.

Experience

After his training at NIMHANS, Dr. Aniruddh T J pursued his interest in skull base and pituitary surgeries, completing a fellowship in endoscopic surgery at the renowned Ghent University in Belgium. He has been a visiting fellow in pituitary and skull base surgery at several universities worldwide. To further enhance his expertise, he observed Prof. Amin Kassam in Milwaukee, USA (Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery & Robotically Operated Video Telescopy - ROVOT in complex cranial surgery), and Prof. Daniel Prevedello at Columbus University, Ohio, USA, both pioneers in endoscopic skull base and pituitary tumor surgery.

Dr. Aniruddh is also trained in SONOWAND ultrasound-guided brain tumor surgery in Bratislava, Slovakia, minimally invasive brain surgery under Prof. Charlie Teo in Debrecen, Hungary. He continually updates his knowledge and has received training in robotic neurosurgery.

He served as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Ramaiah Medical College and Ramaiah Memorial Hospital for 8 years. He then worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Vikram Hospital (now Manipal Hospital, Millers Road) for 3 years. Currently, he is at Aster RV Hospital, JP Nagar, and Aster CMI Hospitals, Hebbal, Bangalore, both of which are Global Centres of Excellence in Neurosciences.

Dr. Aniruddh is proficient in performing all types of brain and spine surgeries and specializes in treating disorders related to the nervous system. He has performed over 3000 complex brain and spine surgeries. His dedication to his patients ensures that he leaves no stone unturned to achieve the best possible outcomes.

He specializes in headache management, epilepsy, and other neurological illnesses, as well as treating neck and back pain. He emphasizes accurate diagnosis and non-surgical therapies whenever possible. He is skilled in skull base surgery (pituitary tumors), performing surgeries through the nose, and minimally invasive spine surgeries for slip disc and spondylolysis, which offer shorter recovery times and smaller incisions.

Dr. Aniruddh regularly performs surgeries on brain tumors in both adults and children, treats trigeminal neuralgia with facial pain, cerebral aneurysms, and brachial plexus injuries. He is also an expert in endoscopic procedures for hydrocephalus in children (ETV).
